Chelsea Jacobson, MS Counselor Intern
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Metropolitan State University. I am currently working towards my Master’s of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University. My professional background has offered me experience with the foster care system, adoption, and working with children with special needs. I provide counseling services to patients of all ages under the supervision of Angie Arnold, MS, LPC-MH. I believe everyone is unique and treatment should be tailored to the patient utilizing their strengths to enhance one’s quality of life. While each treatment approach will be personalized, I commonly use person-centered, acceptance and commitment, and cognitive behavioral therapies. I am passionate about helping others in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
I was born and raised in Watertown, SD. I moved to Minnesota while pursing my first degree and was quick to realize I missed my hometown. After graduation in 2018, I decided to move back. Outside of work, I enjoy being outside with my dogs, going on hikes, swimming, or fishing with my fiancé. I can often be found watching a documentary or doing a DIY project. My friends and family are important to me, and I take advantage of any chance to spend time with them.
